8th Annual Louisiana Book Festival Featuring Author of, "Red Beans and Ricely Yours", Dr. Mona Lisa Saloy

Dr. Mona Lisa Saloy is Professor of English and founder of the Creative Writing Program at Dillard University. Saloy’s new verse appears in The Southern Poetry Anthology, Volume IV: Louisiana, 12/2011; the Pan African Literary Journal, Fall 2010. Her essay, “Disasters, Nature, and Poetry” is in Black Nature: Four Centuries of African American Nature Poetry, University of Georgia Press. Red Beans and Ricely Yours: Poems won the PEN/Oakland Josephine Miles Prize, the T. S. Eliot Prize in poetry.
