UB Web Seminar Archives: The benefits of choosing a campus clicker standard

The benefits of choosing a campus clicker standard

As colleges and universities continue to look for wys to improve student retention and encourage deeper learning, many institutions are turning to classroom response systems as a proven method to stimulate conversation, measure student attitudes and drive active learning in the classroom. But with tighter budgets and shifting IT department priorities, clicker standardization has become a lower priority on the to-do list. This web seminar will offer real-world faculty and administrator perspective on the benefits of clicker standardization, and insight into the implementation and growth of clicker technology institutionally.

Topics will include:
•Considerations, benefits and an implementation process for adopting a classroom response system institutionally
•Strategies for communicating the value of clickers in the classroom to faculty
•How to enhance the pedagogical impact of traditional, open and distance learning environments with clickers
•Best practices for implementing clickers in the classroom

Scheduled presenters
Galen Pickett, Professor of Physics and Astronomy, California Statue University Long Beach
Leslie Kennedy, and Director of Instructional Technology Support Services, California State University Long Beach
