Report Finds a
Large Gender Gap in Political Aspirations Among College Students
A study co-authored by Jennifer L. Lawless,
associate professor of government and director of the Women & Politics
Institute at American University in Washington, D.C., finds that young women in
college are not as interested in careers in politics as their male peers.
There were four medical schools in the United States in 2011
where women were more than 60 percent of the graduating class. There were three
medical schools where, in 2011, women were less than one third of all
graduates.
