Good News From the AAUP Concerning a Louisiana Faculty Situation

The Louisiana Conference of the American Association of University Professors is pleased to communicate that, through the intervention of the national office of the AAUP, two tenured faculty members at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette whose appointments were originally slated to be terminated because of the closing of a program (see the report on the University of Louisiana System, pp. 21-22) have been offered and have accepted tenured appointments in other departments of the university. We express ourgratitude to the ULL AAUP chapter, to the ULL administrative officers, and to the national AAUP staff and for their successful efforts in relocating the two professors in suitable continuing tenured positions.

Please encourage your colleagues to join the AAUP http://www.aaup.org/aaup/involved/join/ and support excellence in higher education in Louisiana and across the nation!
